James Wainaina

Climate Resilience Designer

James Wainaina is a Climate Resilience Designer at the International Rescue Committee. He works to weave climate resilience and into programs and interventions in resource constrained and fragile environments. He is currently working on seed security projects in South Sudan and Pakistan. He is passionate about the alleviation of multidimensional poverty through human centered problem solving and the use of research to inform the design of sustainable interventions for developing communities. He has more than 7 years of experience as a design researcher in climate resilience, sustainable development and gender, spanning across Africa, South Asia and the United States.   

He holds a Bachelors degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Technical University of Kenya and a Master of Environmental Management from Yale University in Connecticut, USA.
