Ariana Schrier

Portfolio Lead, Climate R&I

Ariana Schrier is the Portfolio Lead for Climate Reserach & Innovation. In addition to leading the planning and execution of individual projects, Ari will serve as the focal point for the development and delivery of the core strategy, vision, and roadmap of the Climate GRIP, and drive strategic project management and collaboration standards and processes across the portfolio. Ari previously served as the department manager for Airbel and consequently as the Senior Officer, Climate Research & Innovation for the IRC, leading strategy and coordination for the Climate Resilient Agro-Pastoral Livelihoods Global Research & Innovation Priority. 

Prior to joining the Airbel team, Ari consulted with a range of humanitarian organizations and initiatives including management and strategy for IRC's Ahlan Simsim early childhood development initiative, research for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders, and strategic communications and research for Adapt Peacebuilding. From 2012 to 2019 Ari served as the Executive Artistic Director of Pipeline Theatre Company, during this time she designed and implemented a strategic plan which resulted in operating budget growth by a factor of 10 in just six years. In recognition of this work, in 2016 Ari was named a 40 Under 40 Rising Star in the New York Nonprofit Sector by NYN Media.   

Ari holds a Master's degree in International Affairs with a focus on Human Rights & Humanitarian Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Theatre, Politics, and Applied Theatre from New York University.
