Amy Watson
Senior Officer, People Operations
Amy is the Senior Officer of People Operations for Airbel Impact Lab, Research & Innovation. Amy first started work with the IRC in 2016 as a Program Coordinator for Gender and Health. She became the Senior Manager for Health and Wellness at the IRC in Sacramento, where she developed and launched the office's programs for women’s empowerment, victim services, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). Amy has worked across humanitarian and nonprofit organizations, from direct service and program management to national oversight of resettlement offices. She formerly served as a regional director for World Relief, where she oversaw resettlement offices across the US. Before returning to the IRC, Amy helped launch a consulting organization, in collaboration with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), to support oversight of California’s Ukrainian response and build the capacity and infrastructure of ethnic community-based organizations. With more than a decade of experience in leading people and programs, Amy brings expertise in organizational development, people leadership, and program strategy. She is passionate about leading with self-awareness and cultivating environments of belonging and growth to which people can bring their whole selves. She holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a concentration in nonprofit leadership, and a BA in Sociology.
